Happy Easter!

I hope your Easter was filled to overflowing -

with
 joy,
worship,
family,  friends and children decked out in their Easter finery,
good food,
comraderie,
and smiles all around,

not to mention some Peeps and a solid chocolate Easter rabbit.

Life is new.
 Life is good.
Embrace and Enjoy!

A Tale of Two Marches

March Madness exists in other than the world of NCAA basketball.

Today's wild winds and teeth chattering chill bore no resemblence to the balmy March
we experienced on the North Forty in 2012.

This clump of hellebores, also known as lenten roses,
have bloomed for a couple of weeks.
They are this day's only sign that spring is just a day away.

Felt Food Cake

The felt food obsession continues unabated.
This latest creation will make its way to my Etsy shop, Felt Farm Market,
later this week.

The celebration cake, measuring all of 4 1/2" x 2", not including the lollipops,
is based on a cake design I saw at Pink Cake Box, a fabulous cake establishment
in New Jersey.

Aren't the lollipops great fun?

The cake is yellow, with white buttercream icing.
The decorations are fondant.
Looks almost good enough to eat.

If I were a kid, I'd sure like to serve this up to my little friends.
Yum!!!

The Bowl

A rock pile ceases to be a rock pile the moment a single man contemplates it,
bearing within him the image of a cathedral.

Antoine de Saint-Exuperay

A simple stainless steel kitchen bowl full of toys. . . becomes

a clanging means for exploring the concepts of "in" and "out".

When you put your face inside the bowl and talk, or in the case of
baby granddaughter, garble, the most beautiful sounds come back at you.

When you drop a ball into the bowl, it spins in the most amazing ways.

A drum.

A mirror.

Oh, the things I learn as I keep company with a 7 month old baby.
